Out of curiosity why do people make their BST themed after some sort of popular IP such as Marvel Characters. When I go and look at a sales thread if the first thing I see is a giant low res info graphic with bootleg characters I am definitely not going to make a purchase from that thread. Specifically the ones that are based around graphic design. With that being said I am sure that many of them are offering high quality services it just makes me think of the fake spider men taking pictures with people for $5 on Hollywood.

Why do people make these bootleg info graphics as opposed to just providing content with screenshots of the service added in? Does this help or hurt sales?....I would imagine a lot of people like it as a large population of services have them.

It's window dressing, but it is eyecatching so makes people stop, stare and read more.

Mostly for brand recognition surely. I posed concerns about copyright and brand infringement it in a thread three years ago: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/im-surprised-at-some-of-these-sales-threads-in-the-bst.863419/

@Apricot has a good response to this:

Thing is, we're not lawyers and we can't evaluate legal implications and fair use rights in multiple countries, copyright expiration or determine if it falls under parody or referencing or plagiarism. So, we ask sellers not to post material that doesn't violate copyright laws. If they choose to do so, that's their responsibility but the moment we get a take down request, the thread gets taken down.

My thoughts have changed in past years on this. If you see it as low quality, it is because it is. Let the cheap people looking for garbage services buy in and then wonder why they can't rank higher than those who use higher quality SEO offerings. To me, seeing something branded with Lady Gaga, James Bond, etc is just a huge billboard that says "stay away". If you give a shit about your sites, it should say the same to you as well.

If you're going to push a brand in your BST sales image, make it something unique. I like graphics like @Finn and @Festinger and such for that reason. It's branded and eye catching without being gaudy and spammed with crossovers of characters that were super popular six years ago.

To answer your question, it probably drives them more sales for low-value customers. But their service is low-value as well, so it keeps the bottom feeders feeding at the bottom.

Hehe, 100% agreed. I thought I was the only one to think that.

Do you like mine?

You have a very generic looking info graphic which I have no problem with I would just prefer plain text with screenshots.....that is just my personal preference not a fact. With that being said I do not feel like my information is at risk if I were to buy from your page. I definitely see the appeal in an info graphic such as yours. What i am talking about is for example SPONGEBOBS MEGA GRAPHIC DESIGN which has like 20 different images of spongebob stretched out over the thread while offering high quality logo design.

People don't know how important is SEO with BST, haha. Changing even title, what cost $30 is making SEO disaster for 2 weeks and traffic going down ;)
I cannot imagine how these dumb images indexing in Google

Thanks, yeah these BST designs were very popular 4-6 years ago and converted well.

A few years ago Overdone sales thread were BOMB, not only sales threads, EVERYTHING OVERDONE was converting great. As @MisterF stated, it makes you look and stare and read and maybe convince you to act and buy.

In my personal opinion, Overdone is overrated in 2019 where simple looking things with more organized info is better than this clusterfuk

Yeah i also got trapped under this overdone graphic bonanza once! Please don't believe in crap when people says things like "Sherlock Holmes hacked google" or similar, know that these services are disaster.

Couple of years ago, i recommended 2 service to one of my relatives and he said those services are worse than ever.

Later on i investigated and found that seller was caught by moderator for using photoshoped result. Can you believe it? That thread has over 7k comments i reckon!

Stay away from such threads!

I like @Finn s thread and also @blackbeans. Their thread is simple yet powerful.
