OK...
Go to mysellbuya (dot) gq
Click any link / image gallery.
Hover over one of the images, right click and choose Inspect Element.
You will see in the Page Source Code Google AdSense code and more specifically this line:
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block" data-ad-client="" data-ad-slot="" data-ad-format="auto"></ins>
Hover your mouse over it and Look at the page and you will see how the whole section of images is all contained within the ad block.
Now, on that site, there is no active Google AdSense data information... I'm looking at /img/pin-boards-for-kids-rooms.html and it was posted on 2012-6-8
BUT
Do a Google images search for "Get free high quality HD wallpapers neon green spray paint for metal"
Include the quotes.
The very last image is a white and coloured image titled Tensors Car & Truck Enamel Paints.
Click the image and its details are:
HD wallpapers neon green spray paint for metal love8designwall (dot) (tld)
HD wallpapers Collections love8designwall (dot) (tld)
HD wallpapers neon green spray paint for metal
If you click the image which takes you to that site...
(((which someone would do if they wanted the truly LARGER HIGH DEFINITION IMAGE of it...)))
You land on the site at /files/images/neon-green-spray-paint-for-metal.html
Which if you right click an image and inspect the element has within it Google Adsense code AND the line
<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block" data-ad-client="ca-pub-7644111059962368" data-ad-slot="5388418040" data-ad-format="auto"></ins>
Which again when hovered does cover the whole image set.
So in fact that site IS running Google AdSense on its images.
Essentially...
He's setup scraper sites and is just churning them out. He's been doing it since 2011/2012 at least. I couldn't be bothered checking how far back some of these went.
The sites are probably getting banned from AdSense. Others aren't. He's swapping codes between them. Who knows.
And people who search for "Get Free High Quality HD xyz" will randomly come across his images.
xyz representing the 'more keyword rich anchor text' you described... which makes him rank for all sorts of things.
They click on them, they want the larger HD version so click that. They go to his site, it's junk, but by going there they have clicked the AdSense link and he makes money.
I would give him the benefit of the doubt that people don't even need to click his image to have the Google AdSense code tick off as 'clicked'...
Maybe not now, probably not through Google, but maybe Bing or other search engines.
But definitely BEFORE...
A few years back I had an image site getting 30,000 visitors a month...
I put an embedded Amazon Associates hyperlink in an image in the footer of the website.
3 days later i had referred 1,200,000 then 1,500,000 then 1,300,000 people to Amazon via my affiliate link and they banned my account for making $67,000...
The images were being shown in the image search results, and without the person clicking on them it was loading the cookie from the embedded image which was an image from a hyperlink.
Anyways...
These sites are just a hack to make money.
Most likely part of a huge PLN/PBN.
I imagine he would be monetizing it in many ways, which is why there is weird and wonderful.
I imagine it's all scripted and he spends no time on it. He set it up nearly a decade ago and they are just so huge they probably rank.
They are weird URL's that he probably gets for cheap.
Yeah, just a hack.
The point of this whole post is 1 thing. Make sure that you understand how things work. And make sure you are making money from it!
>>> I am currently writing a whitepaper on what is and isn't allowed for Google AdSense and what you can and can't hack and why. I am using this scenario as an example in it. Hence, I profited from spending the time and effort doing this. <<<
