Hey guys,

In one of my case studies ranking YT Videos, I found a weird behavior on the backlinking strategy I applied, described below:

  • 600 Social Bookmarking Blast to the Video (using SB Blaster)

Then I created manual backlinks to:

  • Tumblr, Blogger, Wordpress, Weebly Blogs
  • StumbleUpon
  • Slideshare
  • Twitter and Pinterest

I blasted as well each of those blog posts, stumble link, slideshare ppt uploaded file, the tweet and the Pinterest Pin
(applied a Tier backlinking method here, to check things out).

Now what happened? For the first week the video went straight to the first page, on #1 result. And I started to see as well the other webpages I blasted ranking better each day.

Three weeks passed already of this video upload, and at this moment I can see in first page the wordpress blog post, the blogger blog post, THE TWEET! (normal?), and the BIG problem is that the video disappeared! I cannot find it anywhere from 1st to 20th page (but it is indexed if I write my channel name in the search I can find it and it is right there, living and kicking).

What happened? Was the video punished? What did I do wrong?
As far as I know I applied a simple tier backlinking method to a YT Video, and I did only 1 blast to each link described above...
I would like to hear your opinion about this, did you see this kind of behavior before?

You just blasted and left it? You should continue to build links to your video.

IMO, getting a good position quickly isn't too difficult, it appears that Google will rank you highly and test how you perform in a good position. How long people stay on the page, the bounce back time etc. You will then disappear in the rankings. You will then come back at your actual position depending if google woke up grumpy that morning, got some action from mrs google recently etc etc

Doesn't always work like that, but have seen it happen enough to notice it.

So, just a very noob question, how long do I have to blast backlinks to the video? If it already is in the first page? in this case in particular it was at the very first spot and then disappeared, but the video managed to find its way to the first page already.

Is there a backlinking pattern to follow in YT video ranking?

Google's playing with your mind and waits for your action. Don't panic

Thanks for your responses guys. So the best advice is to keep blasting to the video, with a mix of different types of backlinks.

I forgot to mention one thing in the main post, it happened to more than 1 video already, and the one in the example as well. I made a blast to the video using the keyword "<product> + Review", and when google indexed the video, it changed the title of the video for the one I blasted with SB Blaster!
Is this normal? I have 4 videos experiencing this problem, and now I cannot get the original title back, no matter if I change it again in google.
Ideas?

If I had to guess I'd say maybe over aggressive link building. Maybe just Google f'in with your head for a while...

Lol damn Google. I have to try different things to make this work!

As others have already diagnosed, the cure is consistent link building. Don't bomb the video and run, spread it out a little.
