I outsource SEO. I have links pointing at my site with anchors saying my SEO provider scammed their writers out of money and now their families are dying of starvation. I Googled the anchors with quotes and the same anchors are pointed at many other sites too. What the f*ck? What should I do?

Guys I have anchors pointing at my homepage saying "your SEO provider scammed innocent people" (paraphrased) this is messed up. Other anchors are like "we'll remove links when he pays".

So if understand correctly.. the people you outsourced your SEO had ordered services from a third party.
Now the third party decided to spam you, because of the middle man.
Now that's a story to tell.

Identify if that is real and try to get to the third party. See if they respond to your request to stop/remove the links.

There was a thread here recently that sounds very similar to this - but from the other side of the story.

It was someone who had not been paid for articles and those article had been used on a website. There was a middle party in that story too.

I will see if I can find it.

That would be great, thanks. If they're a fellow BHW we can probably find a way to work out what happened and get the provider to pay.

It doesn't look like spam, more like a notice, so they're probably decent. But still concerned in case it's a Neg SEO extortion trap as I've seen similar set ups.
