Weird 301 Redirect

I did a 301 redirect on a super relevant domain with the same keyword on about 20th April.

A day later the money site started having about 3x more impressions on GSC mostly for the terms the original site ranked for, but not for the ones I want to.

Then when the update hit, site started bouncing, now it’s sorta stable bit still no improvement in rankings after a month and a half.

Also the redirect doesn’t show on Ahrefs.

Is that normal?

Redirects can have negative, positive or no effect at all. On a different note, the redirected domain doesn't just have be super relevant, it needs to have solid and clean backlink profile, otherwise there will be no improvement or it might even harm your website.

I have seen 301 effects to last few days onlu before they tend to fade off

Your redirected site must be relevant to your niche and must have niche relevant backlinks too.
