No it doesn't. This is a myth that potheads love to push but it's absolutely FALSE.
Science has proven that weed has a serious impact on memory. And memory is the vessel that holds all old ideas and memories. Since all new ideas come from old memories and weed makes it harder to access memory then weed makes you less creative.
It also alters your state and makes things seem better or more interesting making it harder to evaluate and separate good ideas from bad ideas.
When I was a pothead and use to produce music, every single track or sample I made I thought was AWESOME. As long as I was smoking on a daily basis I was completely incapable of distinguishing a good idea from a bad idea. Same thing with a lot of the business ideas I started when I was high. I thought every single one was awesome. Problem is, when I stopped smoking weed, as that fog of THC drifted away and clarity was driven back into my mind, I realized 99% of the shit I did high, that I thought was "creative" was really garbage.
And this was further proven when I tried selling off a lot of my creative ideas. Like my music samples. The ones that sell today are all the ones I made when I was sober. The videos that sell them are videos I made when I was sober.
In fact, if I were to post a whole bunch of work on this forum, work I did when I was smoking weed vs work I did when sober and off weed, I bet my bank that 90% of non-potheads on here can quickly figure out which work was done high and which work was done sober.
Memory and clarity weren't the only problems. The mere ability to be CRITICAL of work was a serious enough problem. Cause when you are HIGH AS A KITE everything is "cool" or "awesome". And in real life, the truth is most things suck. Most ideas suck. Most shit people are selling on the radio, tv or internet suck. But somehow, when you smoke a bit of reefer every little idea you think of, every little thing you do suddenly becomes awesome.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

How can you tell a person something does not make them more creative? That is something personal that no one outside of that persons mind can say.
What do you have to say about the many rappers that openly say weed helps them create their music?
When I smoked it surely opened my mind to another level.
