Hey,

So i have 1 years old website that i managed to rank in #1 for some keywords without any backlinks.

Forgot to extend my domain and website was down for like 36 hours or so...

Lost all my rankings. From 1,2 positions i moved down to the second, third pages of serps.

Should i worry about this?

Ah that sucks. Try tweaking your SEO a bit and follow the guides to see if you can get back to #1. Downtime does hurt ratings, some say perm, others say temp, some say long term but then recovers (my own believe as well).

Good luck though OP, sucks though.

From my experience the same thing happened to me with a site I had ranked well for huge terms #1 #2 and #3, I ALSO forgot to renew my domain and my site was down for about 36 hours too, my rankings never got back to the same position even after 5 or so months. But I guess every site is different!

You should regain ranking once your site is stable for around 2 weeks. Google reduces ranking of sites, usually temporary, if the content is no longer available - user experience.

It could take you a while to get back to #1 or #2 position-- something that's entirely dependent on your niche and user engagement of your site. I think you ought to focus on building some links and give it time.

i had this once before as well and it took quite a long time till the rankings came back ....

I had the same thing, ask your provider to sent the notification to you to the phone, this thing really helps

REALLY strange. during that time the crawler must have accessed it :(

resubmitmit manually the most important pages. NOW!

Wait little while to see if google gives back rankings.

It might be several weeks or months.

This has happened to me before. It took me 3 months to regain my rankings although within that 3 month period i built more links to the site mainly using blog comments.

Happened to me once before. I moved my website to another hosting after it was offline for 2 days and after a week I regained my rankings.

wow...
this kind of suprises and at the same time worries me...

Hello,

You ranking should be back in about a week or two. You can also use Google Webmaster Tools to submit a Site Map.

Hope this helps!

Hey guys, thanks for the answers. Website back in same positions in like 72 hours..

That's damn god going.

Did you make any changes to the site, add new content or links?

It will come back in a few days... this effect is the basis for a lot of terribly effective negative SEO attacks...
