I bought a couple of web sites from Flippa, and the seller wants to transfer the site files to my hosting account. I registered for a few affiliate programs, but i was told he needed my log-in information & passwords so he can recode the affiliate to mines. He's says i can change the passwords afterwards, or get a temporary one. Won't he still have my affiliate customer ID & account #'s for my affiliate even if i change the password after the transaction. Can anyone tell me what the best way to handle this matter to protect my affiliate security?

I always just tell them to send me the files for the site. that way i can scan them before i load the site up.

It doesnt take but a few min to do it yourself.

What do u mean scan them myself? I downloaded Filezilla; so i guess i can manage and upload the files to my hosting that way. Should i tell him that i will code the affiliates to the sites myself. Can't he send instruction on how to do that on my own? I'd rather not go thru the hassle of changing my affiliate ID's & passwords.

if you can change/ request how to change it then you can do it your self

Why not just send him the IDs & let him make the changes & then send you the revised files?

You would then upload them to your site.

If you don't trust the seller then you need to have a programmer review the files looking for backdoors.
