website traffic dropped to half

4-5 days ago i made some changing on server side and because of that my website become too slow like was taking 3-4X time to load and started showing 500 error sometimes. because of that my ranking dropped and traffic is like now 40% from what it getting 7 days ago. website is 8months old.

i have solved the issue and everything is restored back. but traffic is half.

so now what is do.?

Yeah, you could be lost your ranking effects and traffic due to server issues.
Wait for few days and update your sitemap if you add any contents or any other design you made.
Also, build links from high traffic blogs and concentrate on more authority contextual links and some Infographics.

It's good that you have restored the changes, but you need to be patient and wait for a few days for the traffic to get back to what it was.

If you had server issues, your pages were giving our 500 or 404 errors, that could be sending a negative signal to G.
One of G's key indicator in ranking is the page loading speed, your page's coding (whether it complies with their structured data requirements), and if there are any error on the page.
So you could be experiencing a dance imo, but make sure you get the issue fixed, else, the dance may be permanent.

i have used the same server for hosting my app's media file. because of that all the server resources got occupied and started giving 500 when accessing the website. now i moved that all media load from server and it is again free. and on same day i also changed the site theme that made site loading slow. after 2 days, i am now on old theme + CPU is free as it was before. site speed in google speed checker showing 80% in green which is not bad as i am using lots of images on each pages.

i hope ranking get back to as was before.

Losing traffic is quick, restoring it can take a while.

This server issue goes on your site history with Google. Now you need to restore the site even better than it was before to try and make up for the bad deployment.
