I'm working on 2 websites, both are mostly whitehat. For one, I'm thinking of going for a web 2.0 template because it is sales focused, and the other I am thinking of going a wordpress template because it is a blog.

Are there any negatives in going with a web 2.0 template instead of a wordpress template? I ask because it seems almost everyone recommends WP for everything, but I just don't think it would look right.

also, can anyone share their favorite places to go for templates? they don't have to be free, but preferably somewhat cheap if they aren't. also, I've heard of templatep2p but you need an invite - is anyone able to invite me? How else can you join???

You can make WP sites look like a regular website. Just use pages. WP is just easy to use and google likes it.
There are templates in the download section I believe.

WordPress is basically the standard everyone uses, if you plan on later selling your site you usually can sell it easier if it's a wordpress site. Not to mention WordPress has tons of plugin options which also makes it preferable.

Go with wordpress for both websites. As for templates I suggest you download a big pack from torrents, you will have a lot to choose from, many of them are also premium so that's cool...
