I'm really devastated, because this website has been getting me lots of $$$ It was top 10 for all it's main keywords for weeks, but all of a sudden it dropped to 400+ for most it's keywords and 100+ for the others.

Over a week ago, I built 125 high PageRank blog comment backlinks to the site, they were mostly high quality ones. But this has never really happened to me before so I'm rather confused. I haven't received any messages on webmasters yet, but could this be the reason why my site was sunk? Or is it going through a google dance which I highly doubt it because it was rank top 10 for many weeks.

I've got other sites which are very similar in terms of backlinks and not penalized yet
 
A sudden infusion of 125 new links to a site, even if of high quality, may be interpreted by Google as artificial link growth. Slow down the link velocity on other sites you build, to see if that changes things. Given the severity of the de-ranking of the affected site it may be too late to quickly reverse the damage to it.
 
If that's the case then I can do it to competitors as araqueli said. There's gotta be some other explanation.
 
But that assumes Google cares about negative SEO, which doesn't seem to be the case.
 
50% of my sites were affected.

Only a FEW uses SAPE. And they were affected too.

I think the recent update is more than just targeting SAPE users. I believe it also targets your on-page SEO.
Most of my sites only has 1 review page. But I have many others which are also 1 review page and they were NOT affected.

I strongly believe it is on-page SEO in this case.
 
One of myy sites went down and is almost gone, and others are still doing great. I dont think its on page for some of the other sites are almost the same besides from the content. I belivie its more on the backlinks, and I think its that my site has a blog and was using article wiz on it ;)
