Website started tanking recently

So this is an unfortunate look that I experience in Pro Rank Tracker currently:



I have this domain for more than 4 years and it has history since 2007. I keep building links steadily over time and in 2 years these keywords were on the top. I switched to HTTPS with all the 301 redirects since September and since then the positions got worse.

Majority of keyword anchors are from 4% to 8% and most of them are naked URLs and brand. I decided to support the KWs with some web 2.0s and PBN links recently so this could be a Google dance. But I did similar links before and nothing like this happened.

What do you guys think?

I did the same expecting to maintain my #1 status. however it danced on me but did come back in a couple weeks. However for some reason the site has lost 5-7 spots this week with no SEO done to change anything. I did not see a algo change and just ran a backlink report to see if anything fishy was up but saw nothing. This site has been established for 7 years now and I'm hoping it comes back.

What would you say? Google flux or and algorthmic penalty? There is no manual action - no message in GTW.

And what would you do in such a situation? Anchor texts are diversified properly (mainly naked URL variations, keywords no more than 8% according to Ahrefs). Backlink count keeps growing:

This is exactly why I won't move my sites to https, I did one and my rankings dipped as well.

The 301 redirect is correctly implemented (checked by http://www.redirect-checker.org).

However, in GWT it says my website only has 2 backlinks. Maybe it takes a lot of time for Google to address the change. On the other hand I switched to https in the beginning of September. Plenty of time...

Its takes ages for google to transfer a sites SERP rankings when migrated to https. There is nothing wrong, all you need to do is patiently wait.

I hope you are right Nothing else I can do now as bulding more links (of various types) does not help.

Food for thought... Last year I saw my rankings plummet and my SEO revenue go up. I had to refactor how I track rankings to get better understanding into not just "keyword + rank position" but rather keyword + page type + rank position . Turns out at that time a Google algorithm update that went unannounced devalued product pages and boosted category pages. Before that my product pages ranked best so I focused on keywords that rank product pages. All of those were largely long tail. When my categories went up they were largely not represented in my rank tracking lists and they are shorter tail and higher volume keywords. Had my rank tracking been segmented by page types I would have seen that item pages fell and categories went through the roof WHICH is awesome! But the report said my rankings had crashed and the bank said that SEO is on fire.

So be aware of rankings by page type.

I need to tell you that there are some problems with 301 redirects. Google has updated algorithm recently and I saw that the value of site after 301 redirects is losing. We redirected 123movies.to to .is but some value has gone down

Since yesterday the ranks started to increase, so it was most likely just a temporary flux:

Is really the case of moving non secure files to secure location. Even G has to take time to understand the change.
