I have an interesting experience with one website.

The site has been hit by Manual Penalty for unnatural link building mid September. Before that it was ranking in top 5
results for the money keywords in the specific niche.....after the penalty page 5 and onwards.

Because of lack of time I took no actions until the beginning of November....that I started backlinks cleaning, reconsideration requests.....etc we all know the story...towards the end of November I achieved- "After reviewing your reconsideration request, we have modified the action(s), but we believe that your site or links to your site are still outside our quality guidelines."........yeahhhhh:hmmmm2:

Few days after another penalty arrived - Unnatural inbound links - G has detected a pattern of artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site....no link building has been done what so ever...

SO FAR SO GOOD....BUT THERE IS MORE

OUT OF NOWHERE since yesterday the site came back to page one for all money keywords as it was before the penalty......but both penalties are still there.....non of them was revoked.......

I don't mind the current situation at all :D but it is really non sense for me....

Is there any one out there with similar experience????

Haven't hit first page for anything yet as pretty green SEO'er, but all of my third/fourth page rankings have dropped off the map

The same here. A website from place 4 to nowhere for 2 months and 2 weeks ago back on place 4 :)

Did you recently posted any news related with any major event?

I am having a some kind of theory, so we can compare actions we did prior the ranking recovery and make some conclusions........eventually :)

I've never sent reconsideration requests. No real point. Just pack up and try again.

Not sure what happened. It may just be random reshuffling of your rankings
