I plan on building a website that sells sports betting info (handicapping). What would be the best way to promote this site. Im not asking for step by step instructions, I just would like to know what I need to do to get the maximum traffic. Thanks

I would first start with a great website, not visually, just in description and good articles with good SEO.


Then put your site live without telling google.

Then start building links very very slowly, after 2-3 months speed it up a lot.

of course you will need to do proper keyword research etc...

get a exact match domain name etc....

Try to target locally.

So make websites or subdomains off your main website for the towns that are nearest you / your neighboring states. Targeting the broad "sports equipment" will probably get you nowhere as the competition is high. But if you targeted "washington sports equipment", or other longtail keywords like that you'd have a much easier time ranking for those keywords.

Sports betting tips is a pretty saturated area and is full of established competition.

You need to provide something unique to the sports betting masses that really stands out from the rest or you will be quickly drowned in the rankings.

Gambling websites are really hard to promote, i would look to making a sport betting guide product for Clickbank and try to sell something through an established website.
