Website ranking dropped since the Google Update...

My website was ranking something like 13~18th on google before updates rolled out.
After the updates, nothing. My website is still out there indexed by google fine, but I have no keywords in search console right now.
Only change I made to the website was building some backlinks and PBNs.

I looked up online and people were all talking about how Google is penalizing people in order to sell sponsored ads and stuff.
I also looked up symptoms like what I am experiencing right now and guessing that my website is now in the sandbox.

I feel like buying PBNs or backlinks now would not be the right answer here.
Should I just wait for the website to come back again? What should I do here?

Give it a week or 2 before and see if it gets back on track. If not, I guess you need to build more backlinks to it.

Just wait it out. Building the wrong links could make it worse.

I guess just waiting out is the only option for now. Thank you all for the insights.

All my websites dhave dropped by 10-20% since the update. 1 website was hit hard and lost everything on Google.

If the links you built were not high quality, it might be one of the reasons. However, this is not new these days as even sites with good backlinks aren't spared.
