Hey guys!

Here's the thing. I helped this guy out (good friend of my dads) and created him a website for his packaging business.

It's been year now and he wants me to "promote" it. I'm not entirely sure what to do.

Sounds like SEO. Or he wants you to set up social media accounts and hook them up for him. Just ask.

he'll probably have no idea what "promoting" even is.. you'll want to explain a few of the best paths he should take and possibly one that doesn't involve you? since you don't seem to want to do this which I wouldn't either.

I already sorted the social media accounts out. I'm thinking the next step would be SEO

his done alot of favours for us so I'd hate to charge him anything however seo packages are expensive for me to just flip it myself, I want to do something "promotion" wise rather than something like seo which doesn't show results immediately.

Sounds like he either needs a marketing budget or you need to explain to him "promoting" costs money.

If you know PPC, you can go that route with a budget. SEO is a iffy idea because you can't just blast him once and move on, he will need you or somebody forever to keep him ranked. I'd just move educate him and move along.
