Website Migration : How to preserve Backlinks

HI BHW,

I just took over a client's website migration which has tons of backlinks, from old HTML to wordpress. I'm asked to preserve all the backlinks but the link mapping was skipped by the previous dev.
I know I need to do redirects, but there are more than a 100 pages and some content has been deleted. Is there a way to automate all of this?

New site is built using Elementor.

Elementor is a bloated piece of shit, don't use it unless you absolutely have to. You will have hard time making those idiotic "Google Vitals" green.

Doing 100 redirects manually with a "Redirection" plugin isn't really that much work. Plus, I believe that this plugin in particular allows for an excel file import.
 
That's not a lot of pages, don't worry about it. Even if you were to do it manually, it should be doable. However, if you want to automate this, you can bulk upload redirects from and redirects to fields in CSV with a plugin like @Nargil mentioned.

It's too late, website will be online in a couple days. But I'm curious to know why you think Elementor is shit?
What page builder is more "Google Vitals" compatible?

I literally told you the reason in the previous post.

Oxygen for example. Then again, page builders will always be bloated no matter what you do because of their nature.

Ok but the thing is I'm struggling with Link mapping, I don't have access to Semrush or Ahrefs to list backlinks, it's just Ubbersuggest results (which looks inflated).
Any free tool which can list the exhaustive list of links?

Free tool will also have free crawlers and thus "free" results worth of shit.

What you are supposed to do is to get Majestic report, Ahrefs report, merge them, remove duplicates and you have a relatively precise list of all your backlinks.

Doing, or even trying, to do SEO without at least one of these tools is pointless.

You can use Screaming Frog to crawl your old website and new website. Afterward, export them to CSV and map out the redirects.

You can use "ahrefs webmaster" tool. Its free. Just connect search console into it, or confirm that you own the domain - and it should show a comprehensive report of all your backlinks.

You can also go back on the dates, and check all your broken backlinks and redirect those too. Good luck mate
