Website listed only in country specific google?

Hi, i have my website online since two weeks. I have build a handful of backlinks. It has only english content and is 1st for the (english) keywords in google.de. However it is not listed in google.com (not at all, site:http://www.sitename.com gives no results) Is that normal? Is google.com updating its index much lesser then country specific googles?
