Website layout and design questions

Im the least experienced with developing websites and making them stand out and look good.

1. Does anyone know of any wordpress plugins that allow you to change the colour and size and layout of fonts and texts when making new posts to make them more standout-ish and more appealing?

2. Does anyone know of any decent training tutorials to get me to grips with customising my website to the fullest. Like i embedded a youtube video and half of its cut off lol (gotta start somewhere i guess)

1. The wordpress post interface has stuff for this, look for a box that says more options if you cannot see it.

2. tutsplus is where I learned basic stuff but this was years ago, chris spoon also does some good stuff on line25.com, youtube is also pretty good, the new boston has some good content but I am way out of date, this was all pre HTML 5
