Website labelled as malicious. How do I remove this status?

My website is listed as a malicious website due to me hosting a backlink script (or so I thought it was) and it turned out to be malicious. I removed it after my hosting blacklisted the folders and such, so I requested for them to remove the folders. They're now removed, but there are many sites that have now labeled my website as malicious and that is preventing me from successfully getting traffic. Is there a way around this?

PS. It is also labeled as malicious on myWOT, and I would be so grateful if a couple of you guys can sign up (takes like 30 seconds) and just post a positive comment.

after you have removed all the malicious code ,

login to google webmaster tools and submit your site url

Remember websites don't update your site's status on the web in real-time.

Give it 24-48 hours and see if it still gives malicious signal.

Before this, I used to make roughly $10-$12 a day via CPA, and now with all the backlinks and content I've placed, I can hardly make anything. I use Gateways and such. It's also blocked by ESETNod32 users, which are a lot of them! But their going to remove it their next update.

Make sure you remove all "malicious code" before you submit through g00gle websmater tools.

same problem here, its a real bummer, I know what your going thru. I hate to tell you it can be months before this is resolved by google. I removed malicious code, in fact I removed everything recommended by my hosting, all contents on all domains affected. And as Formosa said, you submit to google webmaster tools google./webmasters/tools/reconsideration. But Ive read some articles saying that half the time they may still not approve your request. Its been more than two months now since my requests and still nothing. My Income went to a screeching halt because of this. This seems to be happening a lot these days I hear. Would you happen to be marketing on youtube?

i has installed blue advertise code on my blogspot getting 3k uniques a day ... but within a day of installing that "attack site" screen started appearing and my visitors have dropped below to 100.

Ok guys - for anyone having this
"This site may harm your computer" in their listing in goog search.

I can 100% confirm for you that you DO NOT HAVE TO REGISTER with WMT and submit your site to the goog to have this removed - all you have to do is clean your site and they will remove the message once they recrawl your site and see that its clean - it is 100% automated.

If you dont like registering with the filthy goog - then DONT - just clean up your source and you will be fine.

They cannot rely on people registering and only cleaning up registered sites - because over time millions of sites get infected and cleaned which are not WMT registered - and therefore overtime if they didnt automatically remove this - their serps would be full of that "This site may harm your computer" message and it simply wouldnt be true.

They have no choice but to remove automatically.

So DONT BE PRESSURED in registering with the goog scum - you DONT NEED TO.

You can thank me if you want for this - ive been through hell and back with it and it all gets cleared automatically - 100% certain.

I would say if you clean your site and you have a method to get crawled again quickly - then this will help getting rid of the message faster.

I did this recently with one of my websites, and within 48 hours the warning was removed

Derviie has been waiting a month to have his site cleared. Anyway of speeding up the crawl process? Is the same spider searching content checking for malware?

Even though you removed those folders, you should still look closely through the rest of your pages to make sure that no malicious code was injected into them. It's a typical practice for malicious code to propagate itself through out a website to make removal more difficult.

As many people already suggested you can go to webmaster tools and have google check the site again to be sure it has no more malicious code. If webmaster tools shows the site as malware free, then google will remove the warning from their index.

Using webmaster tools should be the quickest way, but Spaceman is correct that it isn't absolutely necessary to be signed up with google. If you successfully clear all the malicious code from your site, google should find that it's clear and remove the warning the next time it crawls the site. If your site is being crawled regularly, or you post some backlinks that get google to crawl the site it should take care of the problem in time. How soon depends on how soon your site is crawled again.

I think a few good strong links will cause a bot visit - not totally sure on that one.
I had a crawl rate of around a week on one of my affected sites.

I am 99.9999999% certain that the standard crawl bot passes the page through to malware checking modules. No point in crawling the web twice when it can be done in one pass.

It's not Google checking it out as malicious (it's clean with them) but when I scan my website with URLVoid it shows 3/21 (or however many sites it scanned with).
