    Hey,

I am wondering if it is worth while investing more into a website. The keywords that I could get are ones that would make me maybe only 30c a month, and would cost about $3 total to rank for them.

So, is $3 for 30c a month on a website a good idea? It would take about 10 months to pay its self off.

I would say you shouldn't do it. You still have to pay for hosting every night and domain renewal every year, if you website isn't paying for the domain renewal it's not worth it.

Just go with it. It's 3 bucks only. The more main keywords you rank for, the more long tail traffic you get.

These would be on a domain that already gets about 1k uniques a day from other keywords. so domain and hosting is already covered.

I am just not sure if I should go for terms that wont be very profitable.

I would spend about $300 on 100 articles for the site, to go after terms that get me anywhere from 100-400 visits a month.

I see, for that reason I'd say go for it, who knows you may even drive more traffic then what google keyword tool says. And if its already on a site that gets 1,000+ uniques a day then visitors may look through your site and find these articles and either convert to whatever monetization method your using or even share your article on FB, or Twitter.

A different way of looking at it is that Google rewards authority sites with more traffic - and an authority site covers EVERYTHING to do with the topic - whether the keywords are profitable or not

Just make sure that the keywords are actually related, and expected by Google - i.e. LSI keywords

    the keywords are very related.
Problem is most get about 100 searches a month only. ATM the site is making about $8 a day, so I do not mind spending the money to get the terms, just not sure if would add value or not.

I would go for it. When I"m creating websites, I usually will do anything that breaks even in less than a year. It seems to work well and my adsense revenue has been growing quite a bit lately.

Do one thing first renew your domain than do off page optimization for `that site or you can also use adsence for it.

In that case I think I'd just leave the site as is, and just keep it fresh with a bit of new content each week - and start the next site

There is always a point at which a site becomes a case of diminishing returns, and you have to decide whether it's best to keep putting many hours into the site, or invest your time and money into a new site, that will create a separate income flow

You would need many of keywords like this to earn some serious money. I would think about maintenance of whole process in the future - how demanding is it to control everything one day.

I would spend it for sure due to the other keywords that will rank also.
