If you're looking for a good price AND reliability you can't go wrong with hostgators baby plan. I think it's $10 per month and they have 24/7 chat support which is great.
 
I recommend you Hostthename or Justhost , both are damn cheap and reliable
 
I used hostgator for a few years, but moved on to BlueHost, way cheaper and faster shared hosting.
 
The only thing you need to check when you try to choose web hosting company, what are your requirements, like for example you can have justhost or bluehost, but if you need any special apache mods, etc. then will they install it for you? You need to check how flexible web hosting company is to your website and do they meet your requirements.
 
I would also recommend hostwinds, though it depends on what you need specifically, but they have a package that is $5.50 a month and its basically unlimited everything (within reason) works great for me

i hate to say it but hostgator is a decent choice. their prices are also in-expensive. i mean, i have had a few problems over there but they are pretty good overall. they have 24/7 support with live chat or phone so thats also a nice thing to have

If you're just strting out, go with a cheaper hosting account like Hostwinds or Hostmonster... Both around $5 per month.

Then, as you become comfortable with cPanel, getting a blog set up, MySql and PHPAdmin, you can always upgrade if you need more features, etc.

But when first starting out and learning the basics, why not use a less expensive alternative?

BTW, I have been testing out Hostwinds at $5.50 per month for the last three months, and they have been working just fine... even on some massive sites I have on there...

of the ones on the market i would go with hostgator. Support will be better than most of the other cheaper hosting accounts.

The saying is true in hosting you get what you pay for.
 
Is the baby plan the best option on host gator? is the business one only if your selling products from your site?
 
Hawkhost is the highest rated fastest best value host around. I searched for 8 min on google read tons of reviews they were all awesome 5 stars.
