Website got hit hard the last year

I didn't think i'd make a post asking for some tips but here i am.

This isn't even a spam website or any blackhat website. However i did buy backlinks and such. But the content in the website is unique and such. I have no clue why it got hit so hard and it has been slowly going down from 3k clicks per day to now 460 clicks per day. Looks like it was penalized but nothing in search.google.com that shows any penalty. Also i've tried almost everything from buying more backlinks to disavowing bad backlinks , changing headers, titles, etc etc.

I have no clue why it's happening. I have had the website blooming for over 3 years and the past year it just took a very heavy hit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, it's extremely strange...

It might be a backlink question, but it's unlikely due to the fact that everything has worked fine for 3 years

Are you sure that your niche or topic is still relevant, or maybe you got a strong competing website?

I've always had stronger competing websites, and i've competed with them with no problem from the start.
Something happened the last year or so, google kept just pushing my website more down everyday.

Makes no sense honestly, my website is so much better than competitors too. Even optimized for speed etc. But i guess some new algorithm targeted my site idk.
 
Have you tried going thorugh all website spam-checkers? Maybe your domain has been somehow spammed or flawed and GSC said nothing about it. It's really unlikely, but I just can't think of any other reasons

Why not try to copy what your competitors that are coming up doing?

May be format the content similar to them. Also Check which keywords are down, only optimize for those keywords.
 
You got clapped by the last 2-3 updates. My two sites have the same pattern as yours. Just look at the Twitter and Medavine group and you will see the number of decent sites that got clapped in the last few months. Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do that will magically give your ranking back. Fix your site as much as you can and wait for the next update. Still, there is a chance that you will never get your rankings back, so I advise you to start a new site in the meantime. 1717765680566.png

Ya the thing is it's a listing website as are my competitors. So it isn't exactly a content battle. Only thing competitors have is more stronger backlinks in general. But i was still beating them until it just went the opposite way after 3 years. I've optimized and tried copying competitors in areas where i can make a change.
Nothing worked.

What kind of site was this? Also why do you believe your site was hit so hard?
 
It sounds like your website might be affected by Google's algorithm updates or quality issues; consider conducting a thorough site audit, improving content quality, and removing any potentially harmful backlinks to recover.

Have you build any other backlinks?
 
It's a pity, but maybe the topic on your website is no longer of interest. Please create new content on the topic to attract traffic back to your website or create many different satellite sites then write. many topics and link articles from websites together... good luck)

Focus on quality content for awhile.
 
Google is constantly changing their algorithm, it's very hard to know what caused this. I had one site in the same period lose 2/3 of google traffic for several months, then it went back up again without me doing anything.
