Hi everyone,
I got three clients who are running a martial arts club.
They wanted to rank for keywords like "kickboxing miami" and I managed to bring them to #1 for most keywords.
I did this by using my PBN.
Now when I woke up, one of the mma schools is completly gone for a few keywords which used to be on #1.
Other keywords have moved to the third page.
The website was sitting at #1-3 for a few months.

I used the exact same kind of linkbuilding for the other websites and they are still ranking #1.
I have no idea what to do and am very thankful for any kind of help!

This is the "volatile" part of SEO.

I have a lot of sites and videos ranking in the top 3 and sometimes they just vanish for no apparent reason. You analyze everything, and can't find a thing.

If I were you (as in ME) *I* would make a brand new site, the same way you did before. Or even slightly better.

Then rank it the same way. It takes work but if you're making money for those keywords it only makes sense to rerank for them. Because you have a history of the niche and know what it takes to crack the top 3.

Thanks for your suggestions, but these are websites from clients, so I can't do that.

Stop building backlinks to it, wait a week or two and see what happens, and in the meantime get a report of all its backlinks and analyze them.

There are two backlinks that aren't from my PBN and one of them is from a linkfarm.
I think I will disavow it.
Would it be a good idea to create some naked URL Links from my PBN?

New domains got a favor period of 3-6 months so maybe now that the period passed you will need to add more quality backlinks.
naked url backlinks are nice, because it makes link building look natural.
tell your clients to help you with SEO, they should build social media accounts and engage.
SEO is not only backlinking.
try some directories also, it helps.
backlinks which are not from you, shall be disavowed (except the nice natural ones)
go with some web 2.0s also. it helps.

i assume that your PBN is nice set up and no flaws (ip range / different hosting / nice quality links.....) and your in page SEO is well done, or you should reconsider those too.
also dont forget those chick from fiverr who make 30s video for your youtube. make some videos and upload.

Best wishes.

Domains don't get penalized across the board - they get keyword specific penalties. I'd be looking at a possible over-optimization situation on the keywords that have stopped ranking...

Thanks for your input.
All the blogs in my PBN are hosted on completly different hosts and got a clean backlink profile.
The websites got a solid onpage optimization and the targetted keywords got very low quality.
If the "new website favor" would have been gone, they would have moved down slighty, but they disappeared completly.

Only the homepage is gone from the rankings.
All other pages are still ranking.
Keyword density is about 2%.
Would it help the completly change the text on the homepage?

This happened to one of my clients, he changed the sites content entirely, rewrote all articles from high quality writers, then after 3 months site is top 3 again.

I was ambiguous in my post - I meant the exact match anchor ratio... is it high?

Yes it is.
I think I will rewrite the content and add links with naked URL and generic anchor

UPDATE:

I created about 10-15 new very high quality links with naked URL to homepage and subs and now the website is back on #1!
Thanks everyone for the advice

All the best with your new ranking. can you specify what is the average PR/DA/PA of those high pr links?

Hi everyone

Hi

How fast did you "pour" the links in btw, it's not hugely important but nice to know.

Is the homepage (I'm guess the main term is SEO's for the homepage) indexed / ranking at all?

First things first, don't panic!

It might be nothing (You'll be back up within a week) or the sites been penalised (Just build another and get it back up there)

Try to avoid the urge to make vast changes to the site too, you need to do a little detective work first to find out what's possibly gone wrong and them set about fixing it.
