Website dissapeared!

I had a website ranked 7 & 8 postioned in Big G's search result for a quite a long time like 2 and half months, Suddenly my website dissapeared, I can't find it anywhere.

It was a product base micro site ( 1 page). But when I check in Webmaster tool section it shows that the site is still on position 7 & 8.

I don' t get it? What is happening?:confused:

#1 - did your site disappear from your keywords/keyphrases in search or is it deindexed altogether?

#2 - is your site fairly new?
 
Search for your site to see if it's still indexed.

If not, then you were probably sandboxed. If you can find your site and its pages, you're probably suffering a penalty or the "dance"...

The site is still indexed, my site is fairly new, 3 month's old. Just noticed one thing. as per google cache it's still showing the old website (update of 1st March), where I made a major chage in 10th of march.

Is that has to do anything with it?

If your site is that new some fluctuations, sometimes fairly significant, can be common. However you said its been maintaining those positions for about 3 month and you just made a significant change.

I'd watch it close. New sites tend to hit the top then drop and then slowly gain, not as fast as at first. If your site doesn't start making gains I would attribute it to the change of your site and look at what happened.

Did the text on your page change? Did you change your page's title and description meta info?

That can affect what keywords you rank well for just as much as backlinks in a lot of competition ranges.
 
I made all the changes after the site dissapeared, Meta description, texts and added new texts as well, too make it rich content looking.

Though my contents are not 100% unique. Because Its product based, I had to copy data from amazon and other websites.

Here's another possible scenario

Google is making some major changes in their algorithm and some sites seem to be getting picked for their research. Especially for local searches

One day your site will be be positioned where it has been for a period of time and then dropped down a number of pages, for a few days, and then put back up again.

I have had this happen to one of my clients sites.
I just keep adding content and links on the same regular basis and the site has even climbed a few notches over the last month.

So I don't panic anymore.
Whatever the reason, just keep working on your sites
 
Double check your results by logging into your Gmail account before searching for your site keyword and search again after you log out from Gmail.
 
This happened to me couple days ago (actually dropped my rank to #400+) but it came back even higher today.

Now that's a coincident, My site is on 400+ too.... though it's beed more than couple of days now.......let's hope for the best.........


Shall I change the content? I did not had any privacy policy or contact us page......shall I add them now?

did you try from IPs (proxies) in different regions?
this can happen if your search is served from a datacentre without data on your website (when you are geo-targeting, for example). it could explain your situation, with a fairly new domain which probably is not replicated all over G's servers. just my 2c

In my webmaster tool it still shows that this website is ranking on first page on different keyword values.

Logged in / out the dosn't shows still in the first page, visits gone down too...
