Hi guys,

Ive just been at a mentoring session around online marketing.
What I didn't understand was a "cookies" and "pixel" exchange (i assume facebook).
Any of you know about it? what are the pros of exchanging my cookies with somebody's website and getting their cookies?
Won't these cookies data only show you the device ID, and time spent on site?

Thank you!

I think it is more along the lines of "I'll give my traffic your amazon affiliate cookie if you give your traffic my itunes affiliate cookie."

how can that be done in practice?

When you join an affiliate program they give you an affiliate code used to track any sales you generate. So the affiliate tracking pixel cookies your visitors so you get credit for their purchases. If you get another website to use your cookie too and people happen to make purchases as they often do with amazon and itunes then you make more money. So if you do this with itunes but not amazon and some one else does it with amazon and not itunes then the two of you could host each others affiliate pixels and you both make more commissions from the sales your website visitors were going to make anyway. I believe the term you want to research here is "affiliate cookie stuffing" BUT I imagine it is hard to pull off these days and violates the program policies.

thanks guys i appreciate it!
