Hi Folks, Maybe a bit of a silly question but do website builders like Wix etc still rank from an SEO perspective? We currently run a native site but are considering going to a website builder to make a/b testing and content management less technical/time-consuming. Thanks for your guidance!

Wix has gotten much better in terms of SEO but it's still not the best option

I say go with Wordpress and Elementor for a drag-and-drop page builder. Best for SEO purposes imo.

Also look into wpjelly
Was playing with it other day.
It also uses wp+elementor
Basically you can build and customize your website before getting domain + hosting

HOSTING: Get a solid VPS Hosting service (Don´t get into a shared plan)
DOMAIN: Get a .com domain
CMS: WordPress (And is not even close)
PAGE BUILDER: Elementor + Elementor Pro
THEME: Either go with 1) Astra, 2) Neve, 3) OceanWP or 4) GeneratePress

That´s pretty much my go-to basic setup.

Then you have much more flexibility than on pages like Wix.

I've been looking a lot at Shopify lately. I was looking at the competition in my niche(s) and I keep noticing that Shopify sites outrank others on the top 10 Google results. What is interesting with this is that many of the Shopify sites have very few or absolutely no backlinks at all to their site.
The KWs are low to medium comp so it's very tempting to take a chance on this.
I'm interested in what others have experienced with this. I guess that it works similarly to the web 2.0 and parasite pages where the hosting site authority passes down to the site owner.
