Hi, I am using one plugin that backup my wordpress website.

My question is, does backup of a website includes backup of our articles too? or just the theme, plugin etc?

Is there a way, I can safely store my written articles?

Thanks

You don't need any plugin to backup your site.
Make a backup in cPanel.
Yes, it will record your whole setup, including plugins.
Didn't you or someone else wrote your articles? - you already have your articles stored in your computer.

take a look at the updraftplus pro plugin. it backs up everything to a cloud service like dropbox or gdrive...

to ensure backup does with you are looking for, restore the backup to a wordpress sandbox site such as https://wpsandbox.net/ ... once you are done with the restore, you can have the sandbox deleted.

cPanel backup is enough for you. I never used any backup plugin before. Even I worked with WordPress for about 6 years

I write articles directly on wordpress lol.

+1 for updraftplus. You can select the option to backup everything. And yes, it backs up your content along with the themes and plugins. :)
yes I am using the same but free version

UpdraftPlus free version is enough for regular backups. I upload backups to my Google drive. I restored the backups 3-4 times during the migrations and never had any issues. You can manage everything like backup, restore, delete old backups etc. within your Wordpress dashboard. So, it's absolutely hassle-free. Only thing you should keep in mind is to confirm that your backups are successful without any errors.

what platform do you use to keep backup of your database? how big is each backup?

I use updraft plus, I take local backup, I got many site, easy to manage backup that way. But if you got a few you can use their cloud backup. And yes, most of them will backup articles/blogs/pages by default.

Compressing and downloading from the Cpanel is the easy and safest way. Do not allow third-party plugins to access your backup files.

On Linux, you can use rClone to backup your websites via FTP....... it will let you back up your entire hosting account in Google Drive, Amazon, Dropbox and many other free as well as paid storage services...

But I do not have a clue to backup the databases. To back up the database, I use a Wordpress pluging but looking for other way to automate it from my Linux machine.

A backup will typically include the entire site including themes, plugins and content. However, you do need to check that with whatever plugin provider you are using.

Personally I would recommend Duplicator Pro as being very good - backs up your entire site and makes it very easy to restore to the same or a new host.

i use the plesk panel of my VPS to do the DUMP. one click and it's done ! But you can use some plugins like updraft etc. For my big site, the complete DUMP is around 60 Go. But the SQL is 1.15 Go

Yes, if you back up in Cpanel, everything on your website will be backed up - theme, plugin, articles.

You can Get full website backup with database from c panel. You can also ask / buy backup solution from your website host. Many hosting services provide free weekly / monthly backup facility based on plan you purchased
