Website backlink building question for SEO

I am currently building a website related to education services, I am wondering since my website niche is in education, does that mean for link building purposes then I should just focus on edu domains only or it does not matter at all?

What I have been doing so far is just posting blog contents, almost regularly, I am not sure if they are SEO ready but with some small paid backlinking efforts I was able to see some small traffic into the articles. However I am not such a professional in SEO and hesitate to ruin my money site and not sure what to do.

Any advice at all is appreciated, I need a little bit hints on what to avoid based on my website's current stage...

Not edu domains. Websites that cover your topics are qualified to link to yours. It doesn't matter the domain extension. In fact, if all your links are from .edu websites alone it'll seem suspicious to Google since people who do that, do so to game the system knowing the reputation of .edu domains.

Forums, blogs and sites that cover topics related your site's are the ones you should acquire links from. Shouldn't be a specific domain extension.

which sites are you using for blogging?? i also created a website ,but i dont know much about where to post blogs to get traffic to my website

which sites are you using to get traffic. i also have a website, but it doesnt have any traffic.

you shall go with backlink profile diversity by getting all kinds of links then focus on EDU links and quality content related to your niche .
 
You can build links from edu blogs and other niche websites which similarly relevant to your niche.
 
Just because your niche is education doesn't mean you should only focus on getting links from .edu sites. However, if you have the opportunity to acquire .edu backlinks, it can be a great advantage as they boost your site's overall and topical authority. Both .edu and .org domains are highly reputable in Google's eyes.

That said, it's not the only way to build links. There are plenty of other strategies to find link-building opportunities, such as guest posts, niche edits, and PBNs from education-related sites (whether they're .com, .org, or .net).

Additionally, you can leverage social media to promote your services. Sharing short videos with tips and advice on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook can effectively attract attention and build your brand.
 
High-quality links from authoritative sites Edu as well even .com, .org sites which is Relevant to you Niche can be more beneficial. Promote your blog posts on social media platforms and relevant online communities
 
You can have backlinks from edu related sites as many mentioned but try to get it some high-authoritative sites , you can also focus for a diverse backlink profile like links from blogs, forums , etc...

any example? I get that edu blogs are useful with high quality.
 
While .edu links are valuable, focus on quality and relevance over domain type. Diversify your backlinks from reputable sources, optimize your content, and engage through social media and forums to attract more traffic.
 
Edu backlinks are very good source for niche-related backlinks. But that does not mean that you should only focus on edu backlinks. You can create backlinks on the website that are related to your niche or topic. Can be.com,.net, or whatever. As long as they are good websites with a low or no spam score and good DA PA.

just keep in mind that the content that you are postingis SEO optimized yet offer good information to the users. Your website on-page is on point. Then there is nothing to worry about

He is right. As you on EDU related sites. So don't go anywhere tale some EDU backlinks from edu sites. I think very soon you get e best result.
 
I have read all the comments very helpful, I have the same question as the author of the article,
 
You need a mix to build a natural backlink profile. Guest posts, niche edits, and even some high DA sites outside of .edu
 
While .edu links can be valuable, focus on building diverse, high-quality backlinks from relevant sources, and ensure your content is optimized for SEO to boost your traffic effectively.
 
You can focus on adding links from other reputed websites for more authority and diversity. Just building links from edu domains will be unnatural. Also, don't overdo with the exact match anchors. Use long tails, brand, generic, and naked anchors to diversify the anchor profile.

also focus on the quality of the backlinks that have good metrics, low obl, etc
 
Thank you guys for all the valuable feedback, I think I have made a small mistake along the way, I am trying to rectify it. I kinda bought some spammy .edu backlink service, I am trying to take a different approach on focusing to value rather than quantity now.
