A bunch of our sites have like 2-3 thousand backlinks in yahoo site explorer and the backlinks were given by a huge auto approve scrapebox blast a few weeks prior. However, according to webmaster tools a bunch of our sites have like 16 backlinks or 1 and it is nonsensical. All the accounts are on the same webmaster tools account, and even one site has been deindexed. Is it possible to be deindexed for purely just scrapebox spam and nothing more Blackhat than that? Furthermore, is there some widespread penalty that can be given to the account. Any1 have any experience in this matter. I should also add this happened after adding analytics , however, one of our sites in the account, has maintained stellar rankings. Any input? Thank you

Are you sure it's deindexed? have you tried using the site:domainname in google to see if it comes up? If it shows up then it is still indexed and probably just bouncing around the SERPs

Also, People have been saying it is impossible to get penalized for off site SEO which includes backlink building. If that is the case then you can just scrapebox spam your competitors to death right?

Hope this helps a little.

Sorry , I knew all this before but thanks for your input anyway...... and if you do site: its not there so it def is deindexed.......

Webmaster tools takes a LONG LONG time to post a "link" and when it does it is VERY VERY choosy.

My feeling is WT is just a "sample" of the cached links to your site at any given time, because I see my links jump around weekly with no real SERP changes.

What about the deindexation of a site that the only thing done to it was some scrapeboxing? Can google deindex you for that?? I mean i know they "can" technically but is it a common occurance in the least?

Google will only resort to actually dropping you from the index if your site has an excessively "unnatural" link profile. Just keep building links to that site, but don't do it ONLY with SB blasts, get a mini linkwheel, and the blast to the spokes, and get some .edu forum links and social network links, and when google comes back around, it will realize your site looks much more legit.

This process will not be quicker than 2-3 weeks at least.

Also, the only times that google will ever really deindex and "blacklist" a site forever, is if it contians malware, and continues to do so.

Thanks for the insight Lawrence, anyone else experience anything similar??
