I'm not new to link building and I have several adult sites who work fine for me, but my non adult site (who is already 5 months old) doesn't even have one single backlink according to Google Webmaster Tools.

On the other hand ahrefs.com says my site has 602 backlinks and 111 referring domains?!

Does anyone have an explanation for this

maybe your links are not indexed

Maybe run indexkings on it... Or all the links to get something indexed...

I think I found the mistake. My site runs without www, but in webmaster tools I have set it as www. and didn't set a preferred domain.

Wenevr u link a site, just ping it everywhr u cn. With that comes da tier 2 links. Its not so easy lol

Take in mind GWT always reports different numbers of backlinks and always not all of your backlinks..

Claim both the www and non-www versions of your web site on GWT. It would give you more precise results. all you need to do is add the www/non-www (the one that is not there yet) and re-verify the ownership. That's all.
