webhoston.com SCAMMED me - Advice,do not buy from them

Hi everyone,

It is several months since the user posted this thread, but it has just recently come to our attention, as we had no active account here until today.

So here is the other (and real) side of the story.

Back in January, the OP ordered 2 hosting accounts from us, both of them in the same location, New York. Please note that we have 4 different hosting locations, with unique IP ranges, thousands active customers and we never had any incident where the account was provisioned in a different location to the one the customer had chosen. The provision is automatic and our billing system always connects to the correct server to create the account. We have run lots of tests and the accounts are always opened in the correct location, in addition, none of thousands customers ever reported an account been created in a wrong location.

The OP wanted to order 1 new hosting account in New York and 1 in France. He ordered the first one in New York, it was instantly set up then continued to order the second one. By mistake, he ordered the second account in New York as well, proceeded with the payment and the second account was created of course in New York instead of France, because he chose New York for the second account too.

A few minutes after he paid for the second account, he started flooding our support mail account with rude messages that we are scammers, that his domains were de-indexed because we created both of the accounts in New York (actually, we found that his domains were de-indexed before ordering anything from us), he was threatening to post negative reviews everywhere and that he would DDoS attack our web site (unrelated or not, our web site received a large DDoS attack 24 hours later).

We sent him proof, the invoices that were created for his orders, mentioning "WH5 Web Hosting - New York, USA" for both of the orders. Even if there was a mistake and our billing system had created the account in a different location (which was not the case, but talking hypothetically here) the title of the invoices always mentions the chosen location, so the OP had chosen New York for both of the accounts. Of course mistakes happen, he never admitted his mistake but we offered to move one of his two accounts to France. This didn't change anything. He continued to send rude messages, threatening our staff and saying that will DDoS attack us. Then we just cancelled his accounts, fully refunded him and reported his actions to MaxMind and FraudRecord, so that other companies are aware of what problems they would get into. Please note that we rarely report any one to fraud protection services, we have done so less than 3 times in 5 years and this exceptional case was one of them.

TL;DR: The customer chose New York for both of the accounts, then he started posting negative reviews and attacking us because he said that he had chosen France for one of them. His domains were de-indexed before changing his nameservers to point the domains to our hosting service, so Google "de-indexing his sites only 5 minutes after he ordered from us" was a complete myth. This was about to happen and our service is not related to this de-indexing. He posted a similar negative review on another well known web hosting related forum, but as soon as we uploaded proof that he ordered both of the accounts in New York, they completely deleted his messages as they considered it as a clear attempt of defamation.
