Adobe photoshop

Microsoft is not in the media business, Adobe is. Go with adobe.

If you need a WYSIWYG, then I don't know. I just use notepad++.

Hmm. I dislike all these visual web design tools when designing websites. I do just fine with Netbeans/Notepad++ and Photoshop.

dreamweaver + photoshop and you will be unstoppable

yeah, they give it free so that you'll use their product when you get into the real biznes, i think. :)

I use mac and the web design combo are Adobe Photoshop and Panic's Coda.

if you are new and want to do html,CSS, JS, PHP coding then go for

DreamWeaver

otherwise Visual Studio for .net development.

dos anyone now where i can get me a working version of dream weaver?

just google " Dreamweaver torrent" youll get 1000000 links most work fine just read comments first to see if they are clean

Dreamweaver and photoshop are what most people prefer. But coding is easy especially simple html and css.

To start off with just download xampp on your home computer and install wordpress and a theme.... start off by customizing your theme and go from there.

If you don't want to pay/search for dreamweaver then go for Notepad++ which is a great coding tool the pros use.

Best is to hand code
but all of these I have tried and some are pretty good
Dreamweaver
adobe golive (sold on ebay)
Net Objects Fusion
Bunch of free ones
Komodo edit -- its nice
aptana studio also nice
bluefish its pretty cool
for development ie php and other dynamic languages
netbeans ide I luv netbeans!!!!!!
eclipse not much time playing with this one
Good luck!

you can look in adobe dreamweaver, or if u dont like to code you can look into WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) its a soft that does the coding for you, jus have to place your media :P

My vote also for dreamweaver i am using it from 8 years and found no software near it.

That's kind of old school...

I'd always use a CMS (like wordpress / joomla/ drupal) and develop a custom template..

You have far more options when you do that..

stay away from the microsoft stuff, imho i think its pretty crap
Adobe is the way to go
The microsoft stuff is very very easy to use, but it cant do very much
Dreamweaver isnt to hard at first, but it can get alot of real awesome stuff, alot more than most other software out there
