Exactly why i wouldnt want to start a webcam site... Very expensive to start as opposed to a studio ...

I've seen someone who had take his own (large) house to make it as a studio, that way it can be inexpensive and easier to start because there's only the need to buy the computers/cams (I agree, it can cost some bucks).
 
That's exactly what am doing. Taking a house I own and converting it into a studio. In a Colombia where the minimum wage is abysmal ... ;)

I can see a business such as yours stepping on quite a few peoples incomes.

I've heard the samething from one of the really big studio owners down there. I think he had a few other things going on though..
 
Just to be clear. The cartels are very real, but they also have some very real income sources. You can pay a sort of "tribute" if you want to be a part of the cartel. Which offers protection and lifetime membership. But cartels normally do not get involved in daily operations of business's or try to extort them. Also there are a number of cartels, i am speaking specifically about the Cali cartel . I hear that the Medellin cartel is different though.

Anyway the point is business's do not have to worry about cartels extorting them. I know a lot of business owners and have never been told to "watch out for the extortion" . ;)

Also stepping on toes would be next to impossible. Most of our clients are from Europe and USA ... No money out their pocket ;)

Right now i have my company incorporated and ready to do business. I have a 2-story home in colombia thats almost complete. I have too many people wanting and needing work, so finding the girls is not a problem. Got the permits in colombia and everything. Now the only problem that I encountered was lack of plumbing at my new house and thus having to install a plumbing and fresh water system in the house. Other than that i pretty much stayed within budget.

Am at the stage now were am actively looking for investors/partners to fund equipment and working capital. My plan is pretty ambitous as it calls for 24-32 girls working on average... Then "harvesting" the most talented/profitable and building a brand from there. As were i want online profits... I also want offline profits... Apperances... Clubs,Trade Shows, Showrooms etc etc... With the amount of girls working the studio can profit tremendously and use alot of it to market/advertise thus gaining more revenue.

I will not just give out my whole business model. But i can offer advice and help to anyone that is doing something similiar. Maybe we can swap ideas here and there. I will chronicle my success or failure here. What problems have come up... How i solved them... What type of IM tools are the most beneficial to this kind of business. Like i said before my main focus is to create revenue by operating a webcam studio, but use it to get girls that are worth investing in their brand.

Web cams are the new era of "stripping" forget the strip clubs there beat and i live in the strip club capitol! Who wants to spend 20$ on a drink to see the same kinda broad on the laptop in your own bed. Its rediculouss how ignorant and lazy people are not to take advantage of this opportunity to start a mini empire while we all still have rights in this country, they just blame the poor
girls who are working to make THEM money!.

Anyways, I had to speak my piece to stand up for cam models and women in general, i took offense to the way a few of the men refer to these models because i was one. and theyre not as people describe them here. and boys-GROW UP PLEASE :) I'm living proof that a cam model can do an excellent job for her self and her past employers so its a great opportunity to make money and from what Juan has been saying, he sounds respectful and intelligent and I think he will succeed! PM ME! Ill share my sight with you as well. I did web cam modeling and went to IADT to study visual communications at the same time so i have first hand experience lol. yes there r the naughty girls to be aware of like in any job but I'll steer u in the right direction, on where not to run into those ones:)live jasmi, IMlive are not the sites to join to have a studio TRUST ME.. I have developed my OWN web cam modeling site and to this day couldnt be happier. I have some of the nicest, calmest cam models in the country, thats if you compare them to how some people talk about them that is...because I treat them well, throw them weekly incentives, and just like any other job i motivate my employees, as well as treat them all equally, and they not only treat me with equal respect- they THRIVE to make ME money because theyre happy. I think cam models translate well to glamour and showroom/trade show models.
Most of the things you said hit home and are thinks I have been thinking about alot. Thanks for the advice!

Update -

After a few negotiations having gone sour. I decided to use the mayority of my savings(8k) to finish setting up the webcam studio. My first thought was to buy the computer here(USA) and then send them to Colombia. Found out that the computers are if not the same price ... Cheaper... And buying them in Colombia would save me a hefty delivery price. Plus they carry warranty.

The house is completely remodeled and ready to be brought to life. I have about a dozen girls ready to go so i can hit the ground running. But need 36 girls in total to cover all the shifts i need a month. I suspect getting the other 24 girls will not be a problem. A few newspapper ads and online ads. Then word of mouth to seal the deal. I think i will have a problem of too many girls(never say to many girls).

I also need a permit. But I have a friend(who has a friend) that can get me the permit in under a week. Things seem to really be rolling and i got all the angles covered. I have all the programs i need so the girls can maximize earnings. I got a list of all the sites I will be signing up to and what niche works best with them.
I am pretty prepared but am also exhausted from my 9-5 and am a little worried about having used up my savings. Am also going to take a 2 week pay hit while i am in colombia. But i guess things could be worst(lol).

The hardest problem i have had so far is the actual money and trying to balance all the bills with the hope of making profit in under 3 months. Based on simple arithmetic. My girls would have to produce next to nothing each shift for me to go completely in the red and i mean each of the 36 girls performing abysmally. Since i will guide along the girls and train them as much as possible i expect to make the industry average each month(roughly 90k for all 36 girls/m).

I travel to colombia March 9th and will stay until April 8th. I will try to make a pre-studio post and a post-studio post and try to add pictures if am not too lazy. Like always any questions PM me...
