Hey,
I currently use media temple as my hosting provider on one of their Dedicated virtual but at 1000 a year for: 1gb ram, 30gb disk space and 1.5tb bandwidth, there has to be a cheaper and better provider. Do you guys recommend anyone?

What's a "dedicated virtual"?

If it's a dedicated server then $1,000 per year is actually a very, very good price. If it's a VPS though then you're overpaying.

For VPS I can recommend ServInt and HostDime (have VPSs with both and haven't had any issues) and for dedis InMotion.

FYI unless you have any abnormal requirements, you should be looking to pay ~$50/mo tops for a VPS or ~$350/mo tops for a dedi.

i recommend linode unmanaged for VPS. very very good, better than most dedicated servers.

1k a year for a VPS with the specs you have listed you are way over paying.

Self managed will be around 12 buck and managed you are looking at 25 to 50 depending on the host. Would recommend to start looking around at a few host
