namecheap and hostgator are the best

dont get 1&1 they are awful!

Host gator and ipage are the same. (ipage is a tad better than gator)
Bluehost and host monster is better than host gator..

hostgator is an ok company... But BH and HM are better

Try to find 100-200 cheap hosts for satellites and you will soon lower your expectations enough to find any host awesome.

I had a pretty horrible experience with a Namecheap VPS. While I still love them for their domains, I definitely won't be using them for hosting again. Someone else's site that happened to be on the VPS got infected by some sort of wordpress Trojan. That then resulted in every single one of my wordpress sites (more than 10) on my VPS getting infected and being taken over.

It briefly killed my revenue and resulted in a couple of the sites being listed by Google as dangerous. Not a fun experience.

Their support was less than helpful and it was my programmer who figured out what happened. In the end I just abandoned the account and moved everything elsewhere.

I can vouch for MediaTemple, even though it is overpriced. Having good times with HawkHost. Had a fine two year experience with HostUpon.

Definitely stay far from GoDaddy hosting and also had a bad one with Santrex.

Stay away from Sixserve.com, a friend of mine referred me but the hosting is really slow, and the page takes forever to load.
I'm currently trying out HawkHost, looks pretty good so far.
