Web Hosting you shouldn't buy!

I had bad experience with kvchosting. If we contact via live chat they will say simply to put ticket. They wont solve immediately. But now i am using Hostgator and support is nice. They will solve all problem instantly..

Altushost is horrible. I purchased a dedicated server for over $200usd, then after a month of waiting for it to be set up, ended up moving to a different host. They had my dedicated server set up and working in under 48hrs.

I can't tell which ones are bad as I've never had bad experience as I do proper research before signing up. This thread is kind of useless, if one guy had a problem doesn't automatically mean every single other client will have the same problem. We can't use this thread as a base for web hosting decisions..

Threads like this give the consumer power, and help new people make informed decisions. The only people who should be concerned are the crappy hosts out there, and not you!? If you find threads like this useless then why did you click on it, and then also decide to post?

What was your issue with burst.net? I've been with them over a year and there has not been anything serious. Occasionally VPS may be unresponsive (happened only 3 times in 6+ month period). I just sent an email to support and it's fixed in 1-4 hours.

I don't know any better provider at their price. The network is also good. I've 3x their VPS's and if memory serves me right, only 1 node has been experiencing issues.

I have a VPS box with them 2 months now maybe 3... It has been offline so many times, I've gotten used to rebooting it myself because its quicker than the support.

One of the support guys has a real attitude problem also (long story), Its like dealing with high school kids. They're not a professional company, they don't reimburse you or compensate you or do anything to keep your loyalty.... all I ever got back was "Your box has been rebooted" and they ignored any other comments I made. They treat their customers like unlimted traffic, like stupid sheep, they do not show any value or consideration to their customers.

The performance of the boxes are also terribly slow, I have been moved around them a few times, and they're always crap slow no matter what node.

Your paying dirt cheap prices but its for pathetic hosting, never again! Certainly don't host a serious website with them because they will let you down, maybe just a cracked copy of SENuke that you don't care if it stays online or not, but nothing serious!

I use hostgator.
Its not great, but right now it is doing the job I had some problems when they went into an automated
upgrade.

Definitely stay away from GoDaddy! ! Twice now a competitor whined and sniveled about a small little image of a food item and BAM GoDaddy takes down my 12 year old site w/o even talking to me. In fact, they REFUSE to talk on the phone, only by email. I've asked repeatedly for proof that the image I bought in a package was in fact, copyright protected because I always check for watermarks or copyright info in the properties of an image, even when I've purchased them. 12 flippin' years old, with GoDaddy all that time - gave them SO much business thru the years and this is how they treat me. I've been sitting here waiting for my email response for over 14 hours - all the while my site is down. Yes, I called them, they tell me copyright office refuses to talk to anyone on the telephone and only responds via email. This is complete and utter BULL-CHIT and I am now looking to transfer ALL my domains and hosting, but what a royal pain the you-know-what. :madfawk: <-- TO GODADDY!

HostGator may be more expensive than others, but from my experience they by far have the best customer service. I never am disappointed. You truly get what you pay for.

Yup i vote for Hostgator also.
Never had a problem with them at all :)

Sometime people cannot use PayPal or didn't have a Credit Card (me in Chile like example), so you have to find some companies who can give you other way of payment...

You can buy VCC with LR or any other payment.

Sad to hear they did not worked for you. Please bear in mind that they are probably the most popular budget VPS hosting in the world. I believe this got something to do with their attitude.

I've read your horror story but seriously they have worked for me. As long it works as good as it have worked so far (over 1 year), I see no reason change this provider to a new one.

I second GoDaddy as crap hosting.
I had a website/fansite for my youtube channel, only probably 50 unique users a month (I was small) and the hosting was slow as hell, I had a simple PHPbb forum which literally took a minute for it to initially load up, the site was down every other day and every time I contacted support telling them my website was running slow or was down, they would (It's obvious) solve the issue on there end then reply with the infamous "It runs fine on my end".

Terribly crap hosting, crap customer support, rip off price, I hosted one off my old computer from 2003 on my crappy 4mb speed broadband and it was more reliable! :ebay:

Stay Away fro fatcow hosting. Their hosting is very slow with a lot of downtimes..

True, I had serious problems with dreamhost 3 months ago, but now things seem to go smoothly. I have other domains in arvixe; other than a few database downtime, everything seems good with them so far.

Glad to see it isn't just me! I haven't had much problem with down time with GoDaddy, but SLOWWWWWWWWWWWW OMG sometimes the sites are so slow there's no doubt people are leaving because of it. And the page are not heavy with junk at all. There's nothing on them that should make them slow loading.

Nothing should be said about this. Because every hosting has it's own service that defines how it can be considered. I use manashosting and i am satisfied by their performance.

hostagator is overrated srsly.try stablehost, hawkhost or crocweb.preferrence in order.

I had bad experience with Dreamhost. They took down their livechat and after that the support sucks. I'm now with Namecheap, great support and no problems at all

Far and away the worst host in the history of webhosting, their downtime is brutal. Another good rule of thumb is to never use hosting from a registrar like Godaddy. That is a recipe for disaster.

Hi ... the name, hostmydomainnow.com, may not totally impress, at first, but its hosting and support are top notch, a-one and much, much, much more than words can convey. I've been with hostmydomainnow.com for 2.5 years or so and not a word of complaint. Support responds within 30 minutes, often much faster. My experience with Hostgator was terrible. NetNation was great, honest as the day is long, but my web sites out grew its resources. Hope this helps. dgp
