Web hosting suggestion for speed?

The time has come to move my authority site.

These are my results when I run my site through GTmetrix. Looks like I caught it on a good day with 3.78s page load time, which is typically around 5 seconds.

I need off this shitty hostgator hosting and something FAST that I will combine with amazon cloudfront.

Please offer me your suggestions! Thanks.

I would need some experience setting that up on digital ocean though right? That is something I currently do not have.
 
I switched one of my sites to hostwinds yesterday and went from 4,7s loading time to 2,1s. I'm quite happy with that improvement for the price!

Ya Hostwinds works really well. You can try it out. I had used it.

Well basically it's like this:

  • Are you only hosting ONE site?
  • Are you willing to pay ten times what you're paying now for a dedicated server or similar solution?
  • Is your website maybe the factor for the slow speed? (Too many images, bad code, etc...)

There are a ton of things that come into the equation here :)
 
I've heard asmallorange is pretty good. TBH i've had a few clients who've had issues with hostgator. Is it really that big of an issue?
 
It needs to be the best in its niche. no one wants to spend 3 seconds waiting for a page to load. I have thought about a VPS, not a dedicated yet. I have also optimized the site well, and am sure the last remaining piece is adding cloudfront + a solid webhost.
 
stablehost offers ssd - fast load times. most of my pages load in under 2 seconds.
and good tech support, too.
