Web Hosting Location

Is it of high importance to have a web host in the same country as your targeting?

Or can you still achieve top 10 ranking without having a same country server?

Google give priority to county specific servers while ranking for specific country.

They may well give priority to the country specific server but that does not take away the SEO angle. A well SEO'd site will take over any other rules.

The only real reason to regisiter on the correct countries server would be if you were trying to rank for highly competitive keywords to give yourself that little extra edge.

If you think about it, Googles servers may be US based along with their blogger network but you would still see the sites rank in the UK better than some UK based websites.

As long as the site is well seo'ed for your target country it's no problem. How many sites are hosted with Godaddy or Hostgator in the USA and still rank well for their own countries?

As Twix suggested most important factor is how you are doing SEO... You can also login to your webmaster panel and edit which country you want to target for your site... Also country specific tld will be likely to rank better in their respective country... Location of server is also a factor but not final law... Google certainly give some weight to local results also...

I use the 'All in One' free SEO plugin, use the keyword once every 100 words in my article along with a couple of other related keywords for LSI (3-4 other keywords) to talk about in my article and I have keyword specific category titles. Then I build keyword anchored backlinks manually and with scrapebox using mostly the main keyword I'm targeting and the other 3-4 LSI keywords.

If I backward analyse the top 3 UK sites for my keyword in Market Samurai and go after their backlinks would this make a difference. Do backlinks from the specific country (.co.uk) have any influence on helping a .com rank better than a .co.uk?

I'm trying to keep everything in my Hostgator hosting account to keep costs down so if I just need to build a few more backlinks I'd rather do that than having a second hosting account just for the time been.

I use US hostgator and i have mo problems ranking sites #1 in my home country. I just make sure to always use a local TLD and its all good.

I rank #4 for a super competitive term in the UK and use heart - the hosting appears to be in the middle east.
