It depends who the web hosting provider you have interest in. Something that much would more than likely be a VPS.

It really depends of "X" number of factors. Such as how your script is optimized as first, is this going to be 10k in an hour and then nothing, or spread across the day... Really a lot of variables there. If you could provide us more details we might be able to help you a bit more.

In some cases 20k can be put on shared hosting, in some cases even 1k visits are more then enough and eat up resources available.

the script is wordpress site , maybe the visitors will be spread across the day ,
do you think the free vps from amazon will be ok for this purpose ?

I think 10k is not that heavy unless you published a video on it, the more importance is the the bandwidth...

For that I would recommend going the VPS route. When your traffic goes up more it will be easy to scale up

I have my sites hosted on hosting24.com and with 15k visits/day i have no problem.

Pretty much any good VPS should be able to handle that no issue especially if you have the right caching and plugins installed and setup. I have tested and seen plenty of sites handle that amount no issues with 512MB ram VPS but the more ram the better. A good quality shared provider should probably be able to handle that as well as its only 10k a day. Best of luck.

Do not use Awardspace, I have the Semi-Dedicated hosting and I am very disappointed because every time we get a good story going and attract I swear like 30-40-50 people concurrent connections that is... our database crashes and they offer you a BETTER DEAL and every time its the same BS.

My honest opinion and as a person that has struggled with them more than 3 years now... Just don't.

you should use SSD and 1 Gbps bandwidth server ...and cost will be $2 month..
