I have a list of businesses without websites - a few million businesses. But I'm not sure if they actually want websites.
So my question is how should I proceed in terms of lead generation.

Either I could cold call/email them and ask if they are interested in a this service. And if any of them say yes, sell that as a lead.
Or I can sell these leads in bulk (of 1000 or something).

Anyone know how much any of this would be worth?

It REALLY depends on the quality of the lead, the size of the targeted companies, how recently they were contacted, etc.

There is no fixes lead price .. someone may ask for a 10$ website and someone may ask for 10k$ website..
so sell them as a single leads and make sure how much each lead worth before selling it for very cheap or for a very high price.

I’m interested in a list. Don’t need anyone to call on my behalf. Can you give me more info?

I don't know when/if they've been contacted. They are all American, and I can further narrow it by size of company, type of company, profit, geo location, get the CEO name and email, and date they started their company.

Checking at some of the replies on here, I want to make it clear the OP isn't offering these leads nor wanting to JV.....

Thanks! Maybe I can have separate packages depending on the size of the company. 500 companies worth X amount for one price, and 500 worth a different amount for a different price.

Just ask for a percentage then?

From my experience, try to get in touch with the person ...generic@companyname Vs CEO@companyname, the later one works the best, especially for the small businesses.

but what if the developer contacted the business owner and made a salde then he didn't pay you your share ?

You need a way to track your sales. If they can bypass you then you can't know.

That's what im talking about.. it will be nearly impossible to track the sales .. and thats why it will be much better to sell the leads for a fixed price depending on the size of the project.

Depends on the lead, and your options, for businesses you can a little bit high, start at $1k and when you have more offers than you can take then double your rates and see who will rise to your standards, keep doing that until you have $10k rate portfolio

I'm worried about CanSpam laws. I may have to warm up the leads a bit by an initial phone call and then sening an opt in form. Or possibly Linkedin. It'll take a lot longer and I'll have to outsource. But at least they won't be spammed and I can sell the leads for a higher amount.

But how many leads in a monthly package for 1K?

Then you probably need to rethink your business model so that you can track the sales.

These leads are eclectic as f**k. And I have no idea how to figure out what's more valuable. A struggling florist vs a 6 million dollar kiosk in the mall? Did you know these kiosks are that popular! Crazy. Oh, and another annoying thing. The database doesn't come with emails. I talked with a sales guy and it's .50 per email.

I'll throw up a squeeze page of 500 leads for $500/month. And with a 1-3 percent conversion rate, list buyers should hopefully make some cash and not cancel the monthly service.

I already contacted someone from Craig's List and he was more than happy to make a squeeze page for me in exchange for some leads. Which will give me some practice of creating databases and buying emails, and seeing what other obstacles might appear. If anyone has any advice or thoughts, I'd love to hear. Thanks.
