I am trying to learn how to design a high quality website using Wordpress, and of course I am using the free version of it. So, does that mean when I decide to start building websites for clients, I would have to GO PREMIUM, to get access to more themes and features? though, I've found tons of themes but they are all plugins and even after I download them, I still do not have a clue on how to put the themes to use. What do I do here? do I pay to go premium?

    Therallymethod,

By "using the free version of it" do you mean you are using wordpress.com? Whether you are using the .com or the self-hosted version, they are both technically free (you just have to pay for hosting for a self-hosted one however that wouldn't be something you pay to Wordpress).

As for themes, you can download these in a lot of places and for the most part, installation should be pretty straight forward. Basically you find a theme online (free or paid although I would go with a paid one because many of the free ones have issues or poor documentation), and then you install it through your wp backend.

Here is a link that provides info in detail on installing themes,

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn
