Hi all,

I was wondering the other day how in the hell all these web designers and other freelancers, who earn enough to open up their own offices/agencies get their constant stream of clients. Well, you may say they are awesome at what they do and I agree with that. I also have great web design skills, have created a lot of websites for myself and my family & for a couple friends. Then the referral network dried out, advertisement on paid listings didn't bring any new clients and I lost big hopes of creating my own agency.

So, I wonder what are you, successfull freelancers/entrepreneurs/web designers/internet marketers do differently?

P.s. I don't need specific methods, unless you want to share them, but just a general advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I run an agency. You must find out what others are doing that you can do better.

Don't just use facebook, Upwork and so on, you must understand where your prospective customers are, what you can offer them that other don't.

I will say more, but let me allow others to contribute.

Create and rent out service websites, such as for restaurants. Many restaurant themes at GPL.coffee

Also complete lead gen websites (not just landing pages) that actually have content. Rent them complete or charge per lead.

"Web design" is not considered a "skill" because of weebly and the like.

To be a service provider you must add HUGE value

Take some of the courses on creating an agency at www.coursed.co. They are all on Zippy and are free

Sincerely,

The Eye

Thanks, I agree to that you must find your target audience and present them your solutions. In fact, not a long time ago I was gathering email lists of potential clients with bad websites (dentists in USA to be exact), so gathered around 300 emails and sent them massively underpriced, individual offers. Not a single person replied...

DM me your website, lets start looking for a solution from there.

There are too many things that are responsible for that.

Let me give you an example, sometimes, you have to prove that you can do it by doing a free site. Do alot of free stuff, invest in knowledge.

Last week, I met an OAP who have over 30k followers on IG and over 20k on twitter. And I have offered to do a free website for her with a link to my site. And she will also mention my brand in her SM accounts/Post. This single act will pull people towards my site and give me new clients.
