I want to set up the prices for some web design packages (no hosting is included). Please suggest me a price which would be decent enough for the US market, for each package. The packages are the following:

1.) Web Design - Basic

- 1-5 pages website
- submission to all the major search engines
- 2 web design layouts to choose from

2.) Web Design - Personal

- 6-10 pages website
- submission to all the major search engines
- on-site SEO
- 3 web design layouts to choose from
- up to 5 royalty free images for conceptual design
- optional flash header on home page

3.) Web Design - Corporate

- 11-20 pages website
- submission to all the major search engines
- free logo design
- on-site SEO
- off-site SEO
- 3 web design layouts to choose from
- up to 10 royalty free images for conceptual design
- optional flash header on home page
- optional presentation video / slideshow

4.) Web Design - eCommerce

- 21+ pages website
- custom designed online shop
- payment gateway integration
- submission to all the major search engines
- free logo design
- on-site SEO
- off-site SEO
- 4 web design layouts to choose from
- up to 20 royalty free images for conceptual design
- live chat / inquiries form

I'm interested in this as well. I hope someone can chime in on the prices.

Rather than give you general rates, I'll suggest the method I use for pricing packages of this nature. Estimate the hours required for each, and multiply by your desired hourly rate.

For example, let's say the first project will take you 5 hours and you want $50 an hour, I'd quote it at $250 (or $300). As you get faster by doing a few jobs and your time requirement goes down you can reduce price or have more profit.

For US market, if you have some skills I'd shoot for an hourly rate of $40-60. If you're just getting started I'd aim for something in the range of $20/30 an hour.

Also, there is usually back and forth in terms of content formatting, requirements, etc. With smaller jobs this can quickly add up so make sure to pad the estimates a bit.
