Is there a way to seed torrents from a web server? It's a pain doing it from my computer because it uses up all my computer's resources. I tried researching it and seem only to find discussion of it having once been experimented on at http://www.bittornado.com/docs/webseed-spec.txt.
If any of you experienced people can help out a noob I would appreciate it.

Torrentflux is pretty what your looking for, easy to setup you just need a php host, mysql, and python i believe , if i remember

If hosting company's are offing unlimited bandwidth, And just as long as the files you are seeding don't brake any major laws - they why even bother hosting off your desk top?

It seems to me that if you have 3 or 4 domain names - you can install the script on them all and have a file that appears to be big, downloads fast, and has a much higher chance of going main stream then one off your desk top?

But does this brake any service agreements with hosting company's? Can you hosting be shut down for hosting torrents? What if the torrents are adult and your host does not allow adult content? hmm. I think I will give this all a go soon.

Cheers and thanks for the link~

Actually, theres alot of torrent hosts out there that specialize in seeding torrents online. Google it!

vectoral.info is what I use, I have a dedicated server for $150/month over there. Fairly small change compared to what you make with torrents. All the server does is seed torrents. I used utorrents WebUI to manage it, although you can use torrentflux also if you want. I would recommend getting a windows server there unless you are really familiar with linux commands.
