Web app developer trying to figure out best SEO/SEM/ETC practices

Hi folks! I'm a web app developer trying to hunt for best practices for my Ruby on Rails and other custom apps and platforms I develop. The SEO world changes so fast and there's just so much to figure out hat it seems best to have a community to go to since places like StackExchange and Reddit really don't seem to be very good matches for this area of research and collaboration.

Unfortunately reddit specifically doesn't like this kind of stuff on their platform. Thankful that I found this forum

Reddit is terrible.

yep, I also come from reddit, but here seems a far superior place!
