Web 2.0 with real domains and a test I am doing

Comment: I am testing a tumblr blog with a custom domain. So far it has goin well and everything instantly index, which was good and bad because it mistakenly started to compete with and past a keyword i have on another domain. In theory I kind of want to buy a few more now or, buy a few domains from other places my question is what i want info gain on is ......

Question: Has anyone tried buying a medium, liveJournal, substack or whatever normal web 2.0 that allows a one year domain fee and have good results on keywords?
If so do you have any web 2.0s that offer a a custom domain that are cheap? It is just as cheap as building out a html site on netlify or neo-cites or etc

A competitor I have as 3k junk internal links that hit his home page per 3rd party tools. It is just a ton of city pages really with some type shady thing going on to boost the amount of internal links to a number this high.
Question: My question is has anyone tried to intentional create a excessive amount on internal links like 250 to 1k or more and had good results? If so how long did you sit on this tactic until it worked?

I guess i would implement some type of structure to this like a tree to the home page for the topical as well. I want to try this on a domain i dont care amount so much. If AI did not exist now, I would not try this.

Yes, custom domain on Tumblr and substack worked well, and 500+ internal links showed lanking boosts in about 3-4 weeks with proper structure.

My next domains will be medium and substack then.
