what is Web 2.0? why people say its powerful way to promote?

just a term that generally describes pages where content is created by users - wikipedia (what u had to visit already for web2 word, digg etc.
u cant just promote a word :) its already promoted enough
 
A more powerful term to learn if you ask such a question is "SEARCH" :) It will be your best friend.

Web 2.0 basically pointing on site that are trendy, like myspace, facebook ,friendster and etc. . Social networking site is one good example of web 2.0

Web 2.0, to put simply, is a buzz word. It really only defines technology that's being used on the web. Ajax, Social Media, UGC - all fall into web 2.0. I hate the word, especially since i work in web development and it gets over-used by idiotic CEO's who hear the word and think its something that they can "harness".
