We all know the risks of link spam, and many a seasoned blackhatter has no doubt felt the G slap from spamming too fervently. I'm making this thread because I want to get your thoughts on using web 2.0 to clean spam links and pass juice on to a central hub.

This is distinct from the linkwheel concept, as these properties exist for one reason only: to pass juice from a seemingly relevant source. They do not need to rank themselves or interlink to drive traffic.

I would appreciate your thoughts on the effectiveness of this method, given 2 assumptions:

  • There will be a 15% loss of juice over all out-links due to the PR damping factor of 0.85 (the value may be slightly different)

  • All juice is split equally among out-links, some of which cannot be controlled e.g. links to wordpress.com. This results in the following situation, weebly taken as example:

The idea is that you pile in as much high powered spam juice as you can to the web 2.0 properties, thus increasing their juice level. If Google blacklists the property for link-spam, your money site remains safe.

So we have a few factors playing off here.

  • Pros: Main site protected from spam penalty, main site receives relevant links from a main body of text.

  • Cons: On the way to your money site, a significant proportion of the link juice you spend time putting into the properties is diverted or lost.

Bearing this in mind, on the whole, is this strategy a good one?

Yes this is the way to do it spam your web2.0 and let it be for a week or so then add the link to your money site.

Yeah I agree, it's best not to add your links straight away for these due to the spammy connotations.

Right on... I keep as much spam away frommy money site as possible. Another thing I do is insead of using Weebly (or any other web 2.0 property) I use a simple 1 page site I built. A lot of web 2.0 no longer pass PageRank or are switching to No-Follow. If I can point 20 web 2.0 or spammy links to a page I have control over and then push that PR onto my money page. I feel like web 2.0 is a little scary with how they change so much so oi want to control as much of the equation as possible. Great diagram!
