Web 2.0 linking question

Hi,

I have a few expired tumblr's and I was wondering how long I have to wait before sending my first link to my money site. Should I wait 5 days or 14 days?

Nowadays expired web properties not good. It's better to create fresh web2.0s and build buffer backlinks before linking your money sites.

Couple weeks is fine. The main reason for waiting here, compared to PBNs, is that you don't want your web 2.0s to get deleted. So try to make them look a bit natural, post some stuff there, pictures, articles, etc and link out after a few weeks. You should be fine.

I am a member of TK forum and they are doing live case studies and update on daily basis. Plus am struggling to rank with web2.0s properties and so far fresh properties works fine than expired web2.0s.
I also got hurt with recent update (google 301 update) and that also made me to think that web2.0s expired not working.

Sources are what i am experiencing right now and what i heard from people who i believe. Btw i am not expert here.

Well web 2.0s are not here for ranking. Don't expect to rank with those only, they are not what they used to be years ago. However, they still provide some link juice and are great for diversity. That's why it's better to simply go with ones that already have some links in place (if you can), rather than spend resources on GSA/Xrumer blasts that won't work any better. Finding expired web 2.0s for registration is not a rocket science and anyone can do that really with only basic resources like Scrapebox and a handful of proxies.

I do not really see a connection between 301s and web 2.0s. I am also not aware of any sudden 301 update. 301s have been gradually becoming less and less effective over the years.
 
Expired Web 2.0 Is Still Working, Only Depends On You What Is You Are Doing And How Is You Are Doing !!
 
I don't really get about the old vs new web2.0 either. I think there are more important factors along like referring domains, content. I have always used web2.0 just for diversity and to mix up backlink profile, never really relied on them, so the recent years updates for web2.0 losing importance haven't had much affect either.
 
You can link out immediately or wait out for a while. No fixed rule, you just need to protect them from deletion. The reason they are available for registration again is because the previous user lost it and you can too.
 
I believe its not about when, but its more about WHAT is the content you are posting to the aged web 2.0's that matters

Is it necessary to wait before linking to your site? I dont think so - Why wouldnt you jut make some quality contents and link out without waiting?

Yes we can find expired domains easily with DTH or scrapebox vanity checker. But i am working on very easy niches that can only rank with web2.0s. So for my niches works fresh properties than expired. Most of expired have nonrelated anchor backlink to my niche. Xrumer /GSA s are life safers for me.

Your goal is different from what OP is asking. And basically you gave the answer of why expired blogs don't work for your strategy to rank them directly in google.

Getting back to OP, I've seen best results when I post my links after 1-2 weeks. In this time I schedule content on the blog, even do some reblogs related or not related to my niche and let it index the new content.
